Job Overview

Red Hat is hiring Software Engineering Interns to join its engineering teams in Pune and Bangalore. Selected interns will work closely with experienced mentors and contribute to real software engineering projects. The role provides opportunities to gain practical experience with technologies such as Python, Golang, Java, JavaScript, GitHub, Agile, Ansible, RHEL, OpenShift, and AI. Interns will also collaborate with teams across different functions and work with colleagues from international locations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Work with a senior mentor to design, develop, and maintain software using Python, Golang, or similar programming languages.
  2. Contribute to the development of new features for Red Hat products.
  3. Debug software issues and help identify and track product defects.
  4. Work on products and technologies such as RHEL, OpenShift, and other Red Hat solutions.
  5. Collaborate with Quality Engineering teams throughout the product development cycle.
  6. Work with designers and product management teams when developing software features.
  7. Coordinate with documentation teams to support product development and delivery.
  8. Participate in multiple engineering projects as part of the internship program.
  9. Learn and apply different technologies through structured learning and technical curriculum.
  10. Work with an international engineering team across different locations.
  11. Participate in Agile development practices and team activities.
  12. Explore technologies such as Ansible, AI, Java, JavaScript, and GitHub.
  13. Communicate and collaborate with other interns and team members.
  14. Proactively contribute ideas and participate in technical discussions.
  15. Build practical software engineering knowledge through hands-on project experience.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Currently pursuing the final year of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent discipline.
  2. Candidates should have a basic understanding of software engineering concepts.
  3. Candidates should have basic knowledge of Python, Golang, or a similar programming language.
  4. Good written and spoken English communication skills are required.
  5. Candidates should demonstrate curiosity and an interest in understanding how software works internally.
