Job Overview

Qualys is hiring a Software Engineer for its Sensor Platform team in Pune. The selected candidate will work on developing and maintaining security software for the Windows platform. This role involves designing, coding, debugging, testing, and improving scalable security solutions. Candidates with 1–3 years of software development experience and hands-on knowledge of C++, Windows operating systems, and software engineering tools can apply.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Analyze, design, develop, and debug security software for Windows.
  2. Maintain and enhance existing software systems and platforms.
  3. Identify opportunities to improve product performance and quality.
  4. Develop scalable and reliable security solutions.
  5. Work with engineers to implement software development best practices.
  6. Collaborate with senior engineers and architects.
  7. Develop new features for the Qualys Sensor Platform.
  8. Identify and resolve software defects.
  9. Perform unit testing and performance profiling.
  10. Support continuous improvement of software products.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  2. 1–3 years of professional software development experience.
  3. At least 1 year of experience in C++ programming.
  4. Experience developing software in a Windows environment.
  5. Knowledge of Windows operating system internals.

Required Skills

  1. Strong knowledge of C++ programming.
  2. Understanding of Windows operating system internals.
  3. Knowledge of processes, threads, and Windows services.
  4. Understanding of Windows Registry and Win32 API.
  5. Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio.
  6. Knowledge of Git version control.
  7. Familiarity with JIRA.
  8. Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  9. Software design and prototyping skills.
  10. Experience in unit testing and performance profiling.
  11. Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities.
