Job Overview
UnitedHealth Group is hiring an Associate AI or ML Engineer in Gurgaon to help design, develop, and deploy AI and machine learning solutions. The role involves working with machine learning models, data preparation, software development, model evaluation, and production deployment. The selected candidate will collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, AI researchers, product teams, and business stakeholders to build scalable AI/ML applications that support business and healthcare-related solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software that deploys machine learning models and algorithms into production environments.
- Build and support AI and ML solutions using technologies such as NLP, NLU, Computer Vision, Deep Learning, and ASR.
- Work with large-scale computing and data-processing frameworks.
- Apply machine learning, statistics, probability, and optimization techniques to solve business problems.
- Write clean, production-quality code for AI and ML tools and applications.
- Analyze and prepare data for machine learning model development and deployment.
- Perform feature engineering and model evaluation activities.
- Test and improve machine learning models with guidance from senior engineers.
- Communicate technical findings and analytical results to leadership and business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with data scientists, AI researchers, product teams, and software engineers.
- Contribute to production-ready AI and ML solutions while following software engineering best practices.
- Follow software development lifecycle processes, source control practices, and testing methodologies.
- Support the development and deployment of AI-powered applications.

Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field.
- Graduate degree or equivalent experience may also be considered.
- Candidates should have knowledge of software development fundamentals.
- Candidates should understand basic machine learning concepts and model evaluation techniques.
- Candidates should have experience or knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Candidates should have an understanding of statistics, probability, and data analysis.
- Candidates should be familiar with software development lifecycle concepts.
