Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement machine learning and statistical models.
- Build automation tools to support Treasury business decisions.
- Extract and process data from various internal and external sources.
- Perform data cleaning, wrangling, and transformation for analytical use.
- Develop and maintain automated data pipelines.
- Analyze data patterns and trends to generate insights.
- Build predictive models to forecast outcomes and assess risks.
- Collaborate with Treasury and Finance units to understand data needs.
- Support strategic initiatives with data-driven insights.
- Act as a technical expert within the analytics function.
- Document and maintain model processes for transparency and repeatability.
- Maintain strong governance and control throughout data processes.
- Influence Treasury stakeholders with analytical recommendations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in analytics methodologies.
- Ensure alignment with Barclays’ values and governance standards.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Strong proficiency in Python or R and ML frameworks (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow).
- Advanced SQL knowledge for database querying.
- Deep understanding of machine learning and data mining principles.
- Strong communication skills to explain complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated experience in data pipeline development and automation.
- Awareness of business processes within Finance and Treasury.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies, especially AWS (preferred).
- Familiarity with Generative AI concepts (preferred).
- Experience with version control tools like Git/Bitbucket (preferred).
- Familiarity with workflow automation tools like Power Automate or Alteryx (preferred).
- Strong problem-solving and evaluative judgment capabilities.
- Intellectual curiosity and integrity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience in a high-regulation financial environment is a plus.
