Job Overview
HARMAN is hiring an Associate Engineer – Ethernet for its Automotive Engineering team in Bangalore. The selected candidate will work on automotive software update validation, connected vehicle systems, and Ethernet communication technologies. The role involves testing vehicle ECUs, validating Over-The-Air (OTA) updates, developing automated test suites, and identifying software defects. Candidates with knowledge of Python, CAPL, CANoe, UDS, and automotive communication protocols will be suitable for this opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Validate software updates for vehicle ECUs and connected vehicle systems.
- Perform vehicle-level testing using test benches, HIL environments, and real vehicles.
- Design and execute test cases for OTA and workshop-based software updates.
- Automate software update validation using scripting tools and test frameworks.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Monitor software update processes and analyze logs to identify defects.
- Work with development, cybersecurity, and vehicle testing teams.
- Prepare test specifications, reports, and validation documents.
- Verify diagnostic functionality before and after software updates.
- Analyze software update failures and support root cause investigations.
- Maintain automated test suites and validation pipelines.
- Identify performance issues and software defects during testing.
- Support continuous improvement in testing processes.
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Knowledge of automotive software testing and validation.
- Understanding of OTA software update technologies.
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols.
- Ability to analyze software logs, traces, and failure reports.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and collaboration abilities.
- Willingness to work from the Bangalore office five days a week.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of Python scripting and CAPL for test automation.
- Understanding of Robot Framework or similar automation frameworks.
- Experience developing and maintaining automated test suites.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools and automated validation pipelines.
- Understanding of automotive Ethernet, CAN, CAN FD, and LIN protocols.
- Knowledge of UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services) – ISO 14229.
- Hands-on experience with Vector tools such as CANoe and CANalyzer.
- Knowledge of OTA software update technologies.
- Experience in test planning, execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
- Familiarity with Git and DNG configuration management tools.
- Ability to analyze DLT logs, Wireshark traces, and failure reports.
- Lua scripting knowledge will be an added advantage.
