Job Overview

Tesla APAC is hiring a Frontend Software Engineer to work with its software engineering team on internal tools that support the design, permitting, and installation of energy products and systems. The role involves building stable and scalable applications that help Tesla employees track, standardize, automate, and improve energy installation processes. The engineer will work closely with Product, Design, and Business teams while developing, testing, monitoring, and improving software applications.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, develop, and support applications and systems handled by the team.
  2. Write clean, maintainable, efficient, and well-tested code.
  3. Develop new features and fix software bugs.
  4. Create unit and integration tests for new functionality.
  5. Work with QA teams to coordinate regression testing.
  6. Monitor live application metrics and respond to system alerts.
  7. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
  8. Study existing technical systems and identify areas for improvement.
  9. Work with Product, Design, and Business teams to plan and prioritize features.
  10. Communicate project estimates, dependencies, risks, and blockers with stakeholders.
  11. Take ownership of features and projects from design through production release.
  12. Improve application scalability, maintainability, availability, and visibility.
  13. Participate in technical improvements and software development activities.
  14. Document newly developed technologies and application functionality.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  2. Strong understanding of fundamental web technologies.
  3. Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/ES6.
  4. Understanding of DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model.
  5. Knowledge of database fundamentals and SQL databases.
  6. Strong understanding of REST principles and RESTful APIs.
  7. Good understanding of Angular design principles and common Angular design patterns.
  8. Experience with frontend development tools such as Vite, NPM, or Yarn.
  9. Experience working with software development and testing processes.

Required Skills

  1. HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/ES6.
  2. Angular framework and design patterns.
