Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the development of metrics and measurement workflows for Windows device reliability, performance, battery life, memory, and storage.
  2. Develop, test, and maintain backend services and data pipelines.
  3. Work on telemetry data collection, transformation, storage, monitoring, and diagnostics.
  4. Follow engineering practices that improve software reliability, security, and data quality.
  5. Analyze telemetry data, diagnostic signals, and system traces to identify trends and performance issues.
  6. Investigate technical problems using debugging and performance-analysis tools.
  7. Identify software regressions and understand their impact on customers.
  8. Build automation tools to reduce repetitive manual work.
  9. Develop dashboards, alerts, and diagnostic workflows to detect issues early.
  10. Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews.
  11. Collaborate with engineers and partner teams to improve software quality.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  2. At least one year of software engineering experience is preferred.
  3. Candidates may demonstrate relevant experience through professional work, internships, academic projects, or coursework.
  4. Applicants must have programming experience in at least one language, such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  5. Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft’s required security screening conditions.
  6. Applicants should have an understanding of software development and basic data-pipeline concepts.

Required Skills

  1. Programming knowledge in C, C++, C#, Python, JavaScript, or other relevant languages.
