Job Overview

Medpace is hiring a Junior Data Engineer to join its Information Technology team in Navi Mumbai. The role involves working with databases, data warehousing, business intelligence, ETL and ELT processes, and reporting systems. The selected candidate will support data engineering and software development activities, work with tools such as Snowflake, SQL Server, dbt, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, and Power BI, and participate in testing and software validation. This is an office-based opportunity that also provides training, mentoring, and opportunities for professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Work with data warehousing, business intelligence, and database technologies.
  2. Develop and support data engineering solutions using SQL and related technologies.
  3. Support ETL and ELT development using tools such as dbt, Azure Data Factory, and SSIS.
  4. Design, develop, enhance, and support business intelligence systems.
  5. Work primarily with Microsoft Power BI for reporting and business intelligence requirements.
  6. Collect, analyze, and document user requirements.
  7. Participate in software validation activities.
  8. Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts as required.
  9. Follow the software development lifecycle from requirements gathering through development, testing, release, and maintenance.
  10. Communicate with team members about projects, development tools, and procedures.
  11. Provide end-user support for application setup, installation, and maintenance.
  12. Work with team members to complete assigned technical projects and tasks.
  13. Support data-related development and reporting activities based on business requirements.
  14. Apply analytical skills to understand data and business processes.
  15. Contribute to maintaining reliable and effective data and business intelligence solutions.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  2. Internship experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering is required.
  3. Candidates should have basic knowledge of SQL Server databases.
  4. Knowledge of dimensional data modelling is expected.
  5. Candidates should understand the basic concepts of Star Schema and Snowflake Schema.
  6. Candidates should have knowledge of ETL development and reporting.
  7. Knowledge of REST APIs is required.
  8. Knowledge of Python is preferred.
  9. Knowledge of Snowflake, Fivetran, and dbt is preferred.
  10. Knowledge of C# or Azure development will be an additional advantage.
  11. Candidates should have good analytical skills.
  12. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
