Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, develop, and optimize backend components of PayPal’s global payment platform.
  2. Write clean, efficient code that adheres to established coding standards.
  3. Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers.
  4. Collaborate with experienced engineers to enhance backend systems.
  5. Estimate engineering efforts and contribute to system design.
  6. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues as needed.

Skills & Requirements

Education Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Experience

  1. 1-2 years of backend development experience.
  2. Strong foundation in programming concepts and data structures.

Technical Skills

  1. Proficiency in at least one backend language (Java, Python, Ruby on Rails).
  2. Experience with Java EE technologies (Java, application servers, servlet containers, JMS, JPA, Spring MVC, Hibernate).
  3. Strong understanding of web services and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) standards, including REST, OAuth, and JSON.
  4. Experience with Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) tools such as Hibernate.
  5. Familiarity with databases (SQL, NoSQL).
