Job Overview
Dentsu’s Merkle brand is hiring a Back End Developer to support and improve enterprise applications for global clients. The role involves developing backend services, maintaining APIs and microservices, resolving production issues, optimizing databases, and improving application performance. Candidates should have 4–7 years of experience in backend development or application support, along with knowledge of technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, Python, or .NET. The position also requires troubleshooting skills, production support experience, and the ability to work within service-level agreements (SLAs).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and support backend services, APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations.
- Handle incidents, service requests, production support tickets, and minor enhancements.
- Investigate and resolve application defects, performance issues, and integration failures.
- Write clean, scalable, reusable, and maintainable backend code.
- Develop and support REST APIs, SOAP services, and third-party integrations.
- Manage databases and optimize queries, stored procedures, and data access.
- Monitor application performance and improve API response times and system reliability.
- Use monitoring and logging tools to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Support deployments, hotfixes, release validation, and rollback activities.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive solutions for recurring problems.
- Automate repetitive support tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with clients, business analysts, QA teams, product owners, and DevOps engineers.
- Maintain technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, and support procedures.
- Follow security best practices for APIs, authentication, access controls, and sensitive information.
- Ensure timely issue resolution and service delivery according to agreed SLAs.
Eligibility Criteria
- 4–7 years of hands-on experience in backend development, application support, or managed services.
- A BE, B.Tech, MCA, MSc IT, or equivalent qualification in a relevant technical field.
- Strong experience with at least one backend technology, such as Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, Python, or .NET.
- Good understanding of REST APIs, SOAP services, JSON, XML, and integration patterns.
- Experience working in production support or SLA-driven environments.
- Knowledge of incident, problem, change, and release management.
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and CI/CD tools.
- Understanding of secure coding and API security practices.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work in shifts or extended support hours when required.
