Swiss Re is inviting applications for the Apprentice – Actuarial role in Bangalore, Karnataka. This opportunity is designed for recent graduates who want to start their actuarial career within the Life & Health (L&H) business.
You will be part of a 200+ member actuarial community supporting global valuation reporting and analysis. The role provides end-to-end exposure to actuarial processes including data handling, modelling, validation, and reporting.
Estimated Salary: ₹4 LPA – ₹6 LPA (industry estimate for entry-level actuarial roles in Bangalore)

Key Responsibilities
- Support quarterly valuation and reserving activities.
- Prepare and maintain actuarial valuation data and models.
- Execute defined modelling processes including assumptions implementation and model runs.
- Debug models, validate outputs, and deliver results to reporting actuaries and business owners.
- Perform detailed validations and maintain proper audit documentation.
- Ensure timely completion of team deliverables.
- Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) for system and model updates.
- Enhance and improve existing model-building and validation tools.
- Investigate and resolve data or modelling discrepancies.
- Assist in special projects aligned with business objectives.
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Commerce, Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Graduation must have been completed within the last 3 years.
- Must not hold a postgraduate degree.
- No full-time formal work experience (internship experience is acceptable).
- Desired: Student membership with actuarial professional institutes (India/UK/US etc.).
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of actuarial fundamentals.
- Ability to work independently with accuracy and discipline.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive attitude and initiative in problem-solving.
- Knowledge of MS Office, especially MS Excel.
- Added advantage: Knowledge of VB Macros and SQL.
