Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines in Hadoop and Spark.
  2. Write optimized SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
  3. Collaborate with FCSO development and business teams on data requirements.
  4. Ensure adherence to coding standards, versioning, and source control.
  5. Support regulatory and compliance-related data engineering needs.
  6. Handle structured, semi-structured, and raw data for analysis.
  7. Design ELT/ETL workflows for large-scale data processing.
  8. Implement automation for recurring data jobs using orchestration tools.
  9. Troubleshoot and debug data-related issues effectively.
  10. Document data models, processes, and workflows for reference.
  11. Participate in Agile or Waterfall-based project lifecycles.
  12. Collaborate with stakeholders to improve data efficiency and quality.
  13. Support risk, compliance, and conduct principles of the bank.
  14. Provide proactive solutions for performance optimization.
  15. Ensure data projects align with Standard Chartered’s values and objectives.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  1. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  2. Analytical and structured problem-solving abilities.
  3. Knowledge of Hadoop, HDFS, and Hive.
  4. Proficiency in PySpark for big data processing.
  5. Hands-on experience with SQL for large datasets.
  6. Familiarity with Azure DevOps for CI/CD.
