Key Responsibilities

  1. Observe, diagnose, and resolve production issues to minimize downtime.
  2. Develop and implement real-time monitoring and observability solutions.
  3. Communicate technical issues and business impacts to stakeholders.
  4. Report high-value metrics to leadership to showcase system reliability impact.
  5. Manage IT service processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge Management).
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze performance and optimize systems.
  7. Troubleshoot consumer-reported issues to ensure seamless digital experiences.
  8. Lead initiatives to enhance application reliability for web and mobile platforms.
  9. Ensure scalability and efficiency of cloud-based microservices.
  10. Contribute to sustainable system design with resilience in focus.
  11. Apply expertise in DNS, networking, virtualization, and Linux environments.
  12. Utilize AWS, Docker, and serverless architectures for cloud deployment.
  13. Work with RESTful APIs and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB or Cassandra.
  14. Leverage observability and service management tools (Splunk, New Relic, Jenkins).
  15. Coach and mentor peers, fostering a culture of growth and resilience.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  1. Proficiency in Java, Node.js, or similar languages.
  2. Knowledge of frontend frameworks like React or Angular (preferred).

  4. Strong understanding of DNS, networking, and Linux operating systems.
  5. Experience with scalable, cloud-based microservices on AWS.
  6. Knowledge of Docker and serverless architectures.
  7. Experience with NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, Cassandra).
  8. Strong understanding of RESTful API design and usage.
  9. Familiarity with service management and agile practices.
  10. Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
  11. Knowledge of observability tools (Splunk, New Relic, SignalFX).
  12. Familiarity with IT service tools like ServiceNow and Jira.
  13. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and code-level issues.
  14. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  15. Effective communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
