Key Responsibilities
- Develop secure and scalable backend services using Java, Kotlin, or Node.js.
- Build, test, and deploy new features in an Agile workflow.
- Design and expose APIs for enterprise commerce platform integration.
- Collaborate with technical leads and product owners on architecture and design.
- Contribute to reducing tech debt and improving system stability.
- Maintain and improve live site operations.
- Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards and design patterns.
- Debug and resolve complex backend issues.
- Influence technology and tooling selection for backend systems.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
- Stay updated with backend development trends and practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the enterprise.
- Provide input for performance optimization and scalability improvements.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or Node.js for backend development.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Knowledge of Agile methodology and software development lifecycle.
- Experience with database management systems.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices.
- Understanding of cloud-based deployment (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Debugging and troubleshooting skills for complex systems.
- Ability to write testable and maintainable code.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Familiarity with security best practices in backend systems.
- Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience in performance tuning of backend systems.
- Secondary knowledge of Python is desirable.
- Awareness of Gen AI / LLM tools is a plus.
- Problem-solving mindset with adaptability to new technologies.
