JOB OVERVIEW
HSBC is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional to join its Credit Analysis Unit as an Analyst. This role involves conducting in-depth financial, industry, and client-level analysis to support Global Banking (GB) and Commercial Banking (CMB) relationship teams. Qualification: CA / CFA / MBA Finance / Economics or equivalent
Salary: ₹8,00,000 – ₹14,00,000 per annum (estimated based on role and Bangalore market)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct industry, competitor, and client financial analysis.
- Review financial documents to support lending decisions.
- Prepare credit analysis reports for new and existing clients.
- Ensure all deliverables meet quality and timeline standards.
- Comply with HSBC policies, procedures, and FIM guidelines.
- Recommend credit decisions based on analysis.
- Identify risks and support mitigation strategies.
- Maintain documentation with accuracy and completeness.
- Communicate effectively with RM teams and stakeholders.
- Suggest improvements in workflow and processes.
- Maintain awareness of operational risk scenarios.
- Support credit writing and analysis for lending proposals.
- Ensure adherence to risk controls and compliance standards.
- Apply financial modelling and forecasting principles.
- Understand budgeting, risk, and financial evaluation frameworks.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- CA / CFA / MBA Finance or equivalent qualification.
- 0–6 years of experience in credit analysis.
- Strong financial analysis skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Strong English communication (written and verbal).
- Ability to identify and assess business risks.
- Understanding of credit writing and credit principles.
- Knowledge of sustainability is an advantage.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Familiarity with budgeting principles.
- Ability to work within deadlines.
- Understanding of financial forecasting.
- Knowledge of operational risk controls.
- Ability to collaborate as a team player.
- Knowledge of HR and performance management concepts.
