Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines for batch and real-time processing.
- Work with large-scale distributed systems and cloud platforms to ensure scalability.
- Optimize ETL workflows to improve efficiency and performance.
- Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to prepare data for AI/ML models.
- Implement data warehousing solutions using modern platforms like Snowflake or Redshift.
- Ensure high-quality data ingestion from diverse sources, including APIs and streaming data.
- Build and maintain feature stores for ML applications.
- Perform data validation, cleaning, and transformation to ensure reliability.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate deployment and CI/CD pipelines.
- Partner with business units to define data requirements and solutions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to resolve production issues.
- Contribute to infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform or Kubernetes.
- Implement security and compliance measures for sensitive datasets.
- Document data engineering processes and best practices.
- Continuously improve data infrastructure to align with business needs.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala for data engineering tasks.
- Strong SQL skills for data manipulation and analysis.
- Experience with big data frameworks such as Spark or Hadoop.
- Knowledge of ETL tools and workflow orchestrators like Airflow or NiFi.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with data warehousing technologies (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Understanding of streaming frameworks (Kafka, Kinesis, or Flink).
- Strong foundation in data structures and algorithms.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience in API integration and data ingestion methods.
- Understanding of data governance, privacy, and compliance.
- Exposure to MLOps and collaboration with AI/ML teams.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities for cross-functional projects.
