Salary: ₹7,00,000 – ₹10,00,000 per annum (estimated based on industry standards for cybersecurity trainee roles in Bangalore)
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with threat researchers and security engineers to analyze network-based attacks.
- Develop and refine detection logic for intrusion prevention and detection systems (IPS/NIDS).
- Perform packet-level analysis using tools like Wireshark, Zeek, or tcpdump.
- Assist in creating and testing detection signatures for network security systems.
- Participate in automating threat research workflows using Python scripting.
- Conduct open-source intelligence (OSINT) gathering on emerging threats and IoCs.
- Support the creation of internal tools and scripts for cybersecurity automation.
- Document threat research findings, detection techniques, and response playbooks.
- Engage in research discussions across the entire threat detection lifecycle.
- Build and execute simulated attack scenarios to validate detection efficiency.
- Analyze the effectiveness of detection signatures against new threat variants.
- Assist in continuous improvement of internal threat intelligence processes.
- Contribute to the documentation of new detection methods and technical reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional security teams for tool validation and improvements.
- Stay updated with global cybersecurity trends, exploits, and vulnerabilities.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Strong understanding of computer networking, TCP/IP, and the OSI model.
- Familiarity with Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and their working principles.
- Knowledge of Cyber Threat Intelligence concepts and the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
- Basic programming skills in Python for automation or data parsing.
- Understanding of common malware delivery methods and attack vectors.
- Comfort with both Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Hands-on experience (academic or personal) with Wireshark, Snort, or Suricata is a plus.
- Analytical mindset for network traffic and packet inspection.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and research capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a global team environment.
- Keen attention to technical detail and accuracy.
- Adaptability and eagerness to learn new security technologies.
