Salary: ₹7,00,000 – ₹10,00,000 per annum (estimated based on industry standards for cybersecurity trainee roles in Bangalore)

Key Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with threat researchers and security engineers to analyze network-based attacks.
2. Develop and refine detection logic for intrusion prevention and detection systems (IPS/NIDS).
3. Perform packet-level analysis using tools like Wireshark, Zeek, or tcpdump.
4. Assist in creating and testing detection signatures for network security systems.
5. Participate in automating threat research workflows using Python scripting.
6. Conduct open-source intelligence (OSINT) gathering on emerging threats and IoCs.
7. Support the creation of internal tools and scripts for cybersecurity automation.
8. Document threat research findings, detection techniques, and response playbooks.
9. Engage in research discussions across the entire threat detection lifecycle.
10. Build and execute simulated attack scenarios to validate detection efficiency.
11. Analyze the effectiveness of detection signatures against new threat variants.
12. Assist in continuous improvement of internal threat intelligence processes.
13. Contribute to the documentation of new detection methods and technical reports.
14. Collaborate with cross-functional security teams for tool validation and improvements.
15. Stay updated with global cybersecurity trends, exploits, and vulnerabilities.

Required Skills and Knowledge

1. Strong understanding of computer networking, TCP/IP, and the OSI model.
2. Familiarity with Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and their working principles.
3. Knowledge of Cyber Threat Intelligence concepts and the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
4. Basic programming skills in Python for automation or data parsing.
5. Understanding of common malware delivery methods and attack vectors.
6. Comfort with both Linux and Windows operating systems.
7. Hands-on experience (academic or personal) with Wireshark, Snort, or Suricata is a plus.
8. Analytical mindset for network traffic and packet inspection.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. Strong problem-solving and research capabilities.
11. Ability to collaborate effectively in a global team environment.
12. Keen attention to technical detail and accuracy.
13. Adaptability and eagerness to learn new security technologies.
