Key Responsibilities
- Develop and test software applications, continuously refactoring code to improve quality.
- Serve as a core member of an Agile team, participating in user story analysis, design, and development.
- Write, test, maintain, and document data applications.
- Review your own work and provide feedback on colleagues’ work for continuous improvement.
- Define test conditions based on requirements and specifications.
- Partner with product teams to understand business data needs and create data architectures.
- Document data requirements and maintain data models for seamless integration.
- Manage multiple tasks effectively and work on parallel workflows.
- Adapt quickly to change and take the initiative in problem-solving.
- Implement asynchronous microservices using Fast API.
- Use distributed storage and compute solutions for high-performance data processing.
- Utilize PySpark for data aggregation, windowing techniques, and Spark SQL.
- Implement data ingestion pipelines using Kafka and maintain metadata using Cornerstone tools.
- Manage Docker containers and troubleshoot cloud deployments.
- Follow best practices for test-driven development and data governance.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Proficiency in Python (Object-Oriented Programming)
- Experience with Python libraries (JSON, Base64, logging, os)
- Familiarity with asynchronous microservices (Fast API)
- Understanding of distributed storage and compute frameworks
- Experience with PySpark (DataFrames, aggregation, windowing, Spark SQL)
- Knowledge of Kafka for real-time event processing
- Experience with data governance tools (Collibra, Manta)
- REST API specifications (Swagger)
- Containerization (Docker) and cloud deployment (Hydra)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Technical fluency to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Banking domain knowledge (Money Movement, Zelle, ACH, Intraday)
