Job Overview
Emerson is hiring an Applications Engineer I for its Chennai office. The selected candidate will use engineering knowledge and Fisher software to select suitable products, support control valve sizing, and prepare technical and commercial quotations for customers. The role involves reviewing project specifications, preparing technical documents and drawings, responding to technical queries, and coordinating with sales offices and factory teams. This opportunity is suitable for engineering graduates with knowledge of control valves, good communication skills, and an interest in application engineering and technical sales support.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand customer requirements and prepare quotations that meet project specifications.
- Review project specifications and contribute to project guidelines.
- Document customer-specific requirements for quotations.
- Prepare technical and commercial quotations.
- Create technical deviation lists, reports, and engineering drawings.
- Coordinate with sales offices and local business partners to resolve technical queries.
- Support changes and revisions requested by customers.
- Assist sales offices with order processing after purchase order confirmation.
- Provide technical support for order entry and factory-related clarifications.
- Assist with change orders and project updates.
- Ensure customer specifications are understood accurately.
- Help develop cost-effective and technically suitable product solutions.
Eligibility Criteria
- A degree in an engineering discipline is required.
- Mechanical, Instrumentation, Chemical, or Metallurgical Engineering graduates are preferred.
- Knowledge and practical experience in control valve sizing and selection are required.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- Candidates should be willing to learn new technologies and engineering processes.
- Experience handling large projects is preferred.
- In-house engineering experience is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with relevant internal and industry standards is preferred.
