Job Overview
Medpace is hiring a Junior Data Engineer to join its Information Technology team in Navi Mumbai. The role involves working on data warehousing, databases, ETL and ELT processes, business intelligence, and software development. The selected candidate will work with technologies such as Snowflake, SQL, dbt, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, and Microsoft Power BI. This position is suitable for candidates who want to build their career in data engineering while gaining experience in a global clinical research organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on data warehousing, business intelligence, and database development.
- Develop and maintain solutions using Snowflake, SQL Server, and T-SQL.
- Support ETL and ELT development using tools such as dbt, Azure Data Factory, and SSIS.
- Design and develop business intelligence systems using Microsoft Power BI.
- Enhance and maintain existing data and business intelligence solutions.
- Collect, analyze, and document user requirements.
- Participate in software validation activities.
- Develop and execute software test plans, test cases, and scripts.
- Follow the software development lifecycle from requirements gathering through maintenance.
- Participate in application design and development activities.
- Support software testing and release processes.
- Communicate with team members regarding projects, tools, development activities, and procedures.
- Provide end-user support for applications.
- Assist with application setup, installation, and maintenance.
- Support data and software engineering projects that contribute to business operations.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Internship experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering is required.
- Candidates should have an understanding of dimensional data modelling.
- Candidates should understand the basic concepts of Star Schema and Snowflake Schema.
- Candidates should have knowledge of ETL development and reporting.
- Basic knowledge of SQL Server databases is required.
- Candidates should have good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Candidates should have strong written and verbal communication skills.
