Job Overview

Rockwell Automation is hiring a Sr. Software Test Engineer – Mobile for its Pune team. The role focuses on manual and automated testing of mobile applications across iPhone and Android platforms. The selected candidate will work with QA teams, Software Engineers, and Product Managers to plan testing, develop automation scripts, identify defects, validate data, and support software releases. The position also involves AI-assisted testing, mobile automation, API testing, CI/CD integration, and continuous improvement of quality assurance practices.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform manual and automated testing across iPhone and Android platforms.
  2. Conduct hands-on mobile QA testing using manual, automated, and AI-assisted workflows.
  3. Create clear test cases and test scenarios for mobile applications.
  4. Prepare detailed defect reports for identified issues.
  5. Execute and maintain automated test scripts.
  6. Improve regression testing efficiency and automation coverage.
  7. Use AI-driven tools to support test design, defect analysis, and test execution.
  8. Participate in automation script reviews and QA process improvements.
  9. Collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and QA teams during test planning and execution.
  10. Provide testing estimates and communicate test progress.
  11. Report quality metrics and participate in project reviews.
  12. Contribute to QA best practices and automation initiatives.
  13. Develop expertise in the product domain and application workflows.
  14. Convert business and technical requirements into manual and automated test cases.
  15. Apply automation-first, risk-based, and shift-left testing approaches.
  16. Perform data analysis, data validation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  17. Report test execution metrics, automation coverage, defect trends, and release quality indicators.
  18. Support release readiness activities and overall product quality.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Minimum 8 years of experience supporting or testing enterprise-level software product releases.
  3. Strong understanding of software testing practices and QA processes.
  4. Experience working in Agile environments.
  5. Experience with mobile automation frameworks such as Appium or Selenium WebDriver.
  6. Experience with functional, regression, integration, API, and performance testing.
  7. Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or REST Assured.
  8. Experience working with onshore and offshore teams.
  9. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  10. Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced Agile environment.
