Job Overview
Kaleris is hiring a CloudOps Intern to join its Chennai team and gain practical experience in cloud environment operations and software systems. The role involves supporting cloud monitoring, patch management, virtualization tasks, endpoint security, automation scripts, documentation, and IT service management activities. The intern will work under the supervision of experienced engineers, participate in training, and develop hands-on knowledge of cloud operations, troubleshooting, and IT processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day cloud environment operations and monitoring under supervision.
- Support patch management activities for Windows systems.
- Support patch management activities for Linux systems including CentOS and Ubuntu.
- Assist with basic VMware environment tasks.
- Perform routine virtual machine health checks.
- Support snapshot management and routine VMware maintenance.
- Assist with installation and basic maintenance of endpoint security tools.
- Support Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) solutions.
- Assist in creating and maintaining automation scripts for routine operational tasks.
- Work with scripting tools such as PowerShell, Bash, and Python.
- Maintain accurate documentation of systems and processes.
- Help maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Raise and track tickets and incidents through the ITSM tool.
- Follow established incident escalation procedures.
- Participate in training sessions.
- Shadow senior engineers to gain hands-on operational knowledge.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates should be currently pursuing their final year of a Computer Science, Information Technology, or related degree.
- Basic understanding of Windows operating systems is required.
- Basic understanding of Linux operating systems, including Ubuntu and CentOS, is required.
- Basic awareness of cloud computing concepts is required.
- Knowledge of any cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is useful.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle is an advantage.
- Familiarity with PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of VMware and virtualization concepts is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Awareness of IT security concepts such as patching, antivirus, and EDR is an advantage.
- Candidates should have a strong willingness to learn.
- Candidates should have good communication skills.
- Candidates should be able to follow structured processes.
